Disneyland

Well yesterday Ann and I went to Disneyland after going to school, which I have to say was pretty fun. Yes, she came with me to my afternoon class (I didn't go to my morning class because I was not feeling good). When we got there we went to California Adventure and saw a new "Fall Attraction" for this park called Candy Corn Acres, which was "grown" by Goofy. So below you will see some of the pictures that Ann took of Candy Corn Acres... I hope that you enjoy looking at these because Ann just loved seeing all the decorations for Halloween as this is her favorite time of the year (The Holiday Season).

How I Met You Mother

Well... The season premiers are here and I am totally pleased with the season premier of How I Met Your Mother. It the first time that Older Ted (the voice of Bob Sagget) mentions his wife and the first time that we learn something about her and how they met. Well in the premier, as you have seen in the commercials for it, Mandy Moore and Enrique Inglesias guess star. Mandy Moore hocks up with Ted and Enrique Iglesias becomes Robin's boyfriend, who is from Argentina (ya baby).

I do have to say that this show is really close to FRIENDS. The difference is that the 2 "friends" get married earlier in the series and there is only 5 people. Please watch it and let me know what you guys think. And for those who watch it will think that it is... wait for it... LEGENDARY!

OJ... Here we go again!

Well as many of you know, OJ just can't help staying out of the news. I think that it is built in him to stay in trouble and to cause turmoil wherever he goes. I hope that this time he gets what he deserves, JAIL!!! People say that they feel bad for the guy, but the people who should be getting sympathy is the Goldman family. Now over 10 years later the Goldman family has still not received a dime of the money OJ owes them. I honestly feel that they have every right to publish the book he wrote. I personally think that any of the money he would have made from that book would not have gone to whatever it was that he said it would go to, I think that it would have gone into his own personal bank account and not to the Goldmans. Congrats to them to have the guts to do what they are doing and trying to get back some of the monetary funds that he owes them. Once again I think that he gets what he deserves, which as I said earlier, JAIL!!!!

Um....

Well it's been awhile and I really haven't had anything to really write about. But now, um... As I said in an earlier blog I love the fall! It is so fun, with the season change, school starting (yes I said school starting, I would get really bored at night with nothing to do and now I have something to do), and as I said before SPORTS!

If you look at my friend Brad's blog you can see the beauty of fall in the mountains, and down here by the beach the air gets cooler, heavier thus causing the marine layer to come in over the coast. I love it! But most of all I love that baseball gets really intense! The pendant races heat up, wild care races heat up. I find myself cheering for teams that I would other wise not cheer for. Like tonight the Red Sox and the Yankees played tonight and I found myself cheering for the Yankees because the Red Sox and the Angeles are in a race for home field advantage through the playoffs up to the World Series (even then they would get it due to the results of the All Star Game). The ironic thing about cheering for the Yankees is that I really can't stand either team because their fans expect everyone to cheer for them and expect them respect them too.

And as I said yes I enjoy going to school, but if you were to ask me what I think about it in a few weeks I might change my tone. I hope that everyone enjoys fall as much as I do!

It's about time!

Well for months there have been states saying that they should vote on a ballot initiative that would let President bush know that he should pull the troops out of Iraq, which I always thought was a bunch of bull. Then I saw this news article and I was happy!

Governor Vetoes California Ballot Question on U.S. Policy in Iraq

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 12 — Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoed a bill Wednesday that would have allowed Californians to vote on whether “the president should end the United States occupation of Iraq.”

The governor explained his decision by saying that Iraq policy was “not a state issue” and that the symbolic vote would carry no weight.

If Californians want to send Washington a message about Iraq, Mr. Schwarzenegger said, they can do so at the polls without an Iraq advisory question. California, he said, moved its presidential primary up to Feb. 5 from June to allow the state a greater say in selecting presidential candidates.

“All Californians have the right and the means to speak their mind on matters of such national importance,” Mr. Schwarzenegger, a Republican, said in his veto message. “There is no louder message Californians can send to Washington on the Iraq war than who should lead our nation.”

The bill would have added an advisory question to the February ballot asking voters if they favored an immediate troop withdrawal from Iraq.

Sixty-five percent of Californians support either withdrawing all (39 percent) or some (26 percent) of the American troops in Iraq, according to the Field Poll, which questioned 1,029 registered voters in California from Aug. 3 to Aug. 12. Participants were asked what the United States should do now about the number of its troops in Iraq.

The margin of error was plus or minus three percentage points.

State Democrats strongly criticized the veto. The president pro tem of the Senate, Don Perata, the Democrat who introduced the Iraq bill, said it was odd for Mr. Schwarzenegger to dismiss Iraq as a federal issue when he — and the state — had taken such a strong stance on global issues like the environment.

The chairman of California’s Democratic Party, Art Torres, said the governor’s veto “muzzled” voters.

“The self-proclaimed ‘people’s governor’ owed nothing less to the people of California and our troops overseas than to let the voice of the voters be heard on this disastrous war in Iraq,” Mr. Torres said. “Instead, even as General Petraeus presents statistics this week that have raised more questions than answers about progress in Iraq, Schwarzenegger has ignored that message and effectively muzzled California voters on this critical issue.”

The veto came on the same day that Mr. Schwarzenegger announced the deaths of four marines from Camp Pendleton near San Diego.

Since 2003, more than 400 service members from California have died in Iraq, more than from any other state.

I have always thought that Congress (especially if they voted for the war in the first place), the state legislature, etc. have not authority to tell the President of the United States what to do. He is the decision maker for the country. What really burns me is that there are people going over there and coming back saying that it is not as bad as people say it is and it is a winnable war. I thought that this was interesting, especially what the Govenator said about the vote.

Arizona

Well Ann and I flew to Arizona on Thursday morning to visit my parents. We came because we have been telling them all summer long that we would come, but as I stated in other posts we have been busy with work trips. So we got here Thursday and ran some errands with them on Thursday and it was a typical weekday. Yesterday we went golfing at the golf course near my parents house. Now I have to say that golf is the ONLY game played between the ears. I started out good, but I got cocky and thinking that I do hit the ball anywhere and play a good round and like always it went down hill form there. But as I said, golf is played between the ears and I turned around and cleaned up my game saved the round.

The highlight of the trip was going to an Arizona Diamondbacks game with my parents last night. The best part by far was when the Diamondbacks scored their first run. The pitcher hit the ball towards the third baseman and he (the third baseman) threw the ball away, thus allowing the other baserunner to advance from third to home. The throw from the right fielder was off line and and led the catcher into the base path causing the baserunner coming from third to do a flip over the catcher scoring the run. That was by far the best play of the night in baseball and it never even got considered for a play of the day by ESPN. Anyway the Diamondbacks won the game thus increasing their lead in the West to 2 games over the San Diego Padres. So that is the update from Arizona.

Movie Review

So tonight Ann and I went to a movie with Brooks and Nikki. We went to see Rush Hour 3. Brooks and I thought that it would be awesome because of the first too. So we went the four of us, Ann and I got there early to get something to eat (because it was right after dinner, 6:45pm). So the movie starts with Chris Tucker directing traffic, causing an accident and then hitting on the girls that were in the accident. Jackie Chan was guarding the ambassador of China as he attending a conference, but then gets shot. From there the antics from the first two movies begin. Traveling to Paris getting in trouble there with the police before the technically step on Parisian ground. From there they convince a Parisian taxi driver that he is an American spy and he has to help them out (the taxi driver latter is told that if he didn't stop goofing off and ruins his dream to be an American).

Well, one thing leads to another and they fight the bad guys on the the Eiffel Tower. There are comedic moments throughout the movie, honestly I really didn't have any favorite moments in the movie. As Ann said during the movie, it is totally a guy movie and would really suggest it to the men who are having a guys night out. I would not go see it again, in fact I would not rent it. I would probably wait to see it again when it is on TV. I apologize to those who liked it, but it is just not my kind of movie.

My new favorite TV show

Okay, so I was pretty bumbed that "FRIENDS" went off the air. Ann and I were thinking of something else to watch because we have found ourselves referring to it in real life situations. So we decided to find a new show that we could watch and get a good laugh from. While we had cable TV, I found myself watching the show "Spin City" which by the way, has been off the air for a few years (FX shows reruns daily). When we switched to satellite I found out that we had to wake up to watch it a 6:00 am which on some days is very early. Which brings me to my point, on our trips to England last year and our past two trips to Hawaii American Airlines shows a program on top of the normal "in flight movie", which is called "Eye on America". During this program a newer show called "How I Met Your Mother" is shown.

Well, I watched a couple of the episodes on those flights and decided that I had to watch it because it was funny and when I watched it on the flights Ann and I were the only people laughing on the whole plane. Well I could never get an idea of when it was on, so when we switched to satellite I decided that I would start to record it so that I can start watching it. Like I said in the title, this is my new favorite TV show. On top of recording it, Ann and I bought the first season on DVD so that we knew what was going on while we watched reruns of the second season during the summer. Ya, we bought it on Tuesday and opened it on Thursday and by now have watched the whole first season in its entirety and are fully hooked. So if you hear us quoting it don't get all freaked out, because you might not know what were are talking about we will explain it to you. If you would like to see some of the episodes it is on on Monday night before "Two and a Half Men" (which by the way is another funny show). Ann and I seriously recommend this show to anyone who is going through the same thing that Ann and I did watching reruns of FRIENDS (quoting the whole episode because we ahve seen them so many times).

College Football has begun!

Well, it's the first Saturday in September and College Football has begun. The usual favorites won, usual meaning the Top 25. Oh wait... I take that back. Michigan, the number 5 team in the nation played Division 1-AA Appalachian State. Now if any on you know anything about college football know that the ranked team would beat the smaller school's football team. But today one of the biggest upsets in college sports took place. The defending Division 1-AA Champs Appalachian State beat the number 5 ranked Michigan on their own field, The Big House! The ESPN College Gameday guys are saying that this could be the biggest underdog defeat in history.

On a brighter side all the teams that I would cheer for won, expect for The University of Utah. BYU, UCLA, USC, CAL, and last but not least anyone who plays Michigan, and Notre Dame. I know that Notre Dame is going through a rebuilding year (whatever, every year in college is a rebuilding year thanks to the NFL draft), but come on to loose on your own field to a team that might not win 6 games this year is unbelievable. BYU and Cal revenging their losses from last year to Tennessee and The University of Arizona, ROCK ON! This is by far the most exciting time of the year for me with the fall sports kicking off, the MLB playoffs coming up, I am one totally stocked sports fan and look forward to more sports posts!
